Full Description: CIS-Nabha, Jaswant Singh (1783-1840 AD), Sahrind Mint (off flan), Silver Rupee, VS (18)51 (1794 AD), "Qadir-e-Bechun" Couplet, In the name of Ahmad Shah Durrani, Obv: Persian legend “hukm shud az qadir-e-bechun ba Ahmad Badshah, sikka-e-zan bar seem-o-zar az auj mahi ta bamah", Rev: a symbol of “swad” in Persian letter 'seen' of julus & Horizontal branch mark, "zarb Sahrind" off flan at the bottom, 11.0g, 20.82mm, (Unlisted Type in KM /Saran & Dalwinder # NB 5aa), no test mark, about very fine, Very Rare. Note: This could be the earliest known rupee coin of Nabha with a Vikram Samvat Year date. Usual mintmark ‘Star’ under the Persian letter ‘Seen’ is absent. |
