Full Description: Punch Marked Coin, Panchala Janapada (400-350 BC), Silver ½ Karshapana, Archaic period, Obv: two punches consisting of a triskele with dots and a turtle symbol, Rev: undertype of flower symbol, 1.9g, 11.27x11.30mm, (Unlisted), choice very fine, Very Rare. Note: The symbol on this type combines a Turtle and a Triskele, which is not found in major numismatic publications. Many experts previously attributed this type of coinage to Malla Janapada, however, it was later determined to be Panchala Janapada. |
