Private Cover, First Day Cover, 1951, 2 Annas stamp of Geological Survey of India Centenary issue, sent to “DR. T. JAMES, | NEYYOOR | TRAVANCORE.” with a very beautiful first-day cancellation round seal as “GEOLOGICAL SURVEY OF INDIA | CALCUTTA - 13 TH. JAN. 1951 | CENTENARY CELEBRATIONS | CALCUTTA |” in violet colour, along with a map of lower India highlighting “Calcutta” within the seal. One more round dispatch seal is seen on the back as “CALCUTTA RMS | EVG. | 13 JAN. 51 | LETTER” and the delivery round seal as “NEYYOOR | 16 JAN 51”, excellent condition, Very Rare.

Note: The Geological Survey of India (GSI) was established in 1851 and has been supplying scientific information to the government since that time. The Centenary Celebrations seal on the cover commemorates the completion of 100 years of this organization (GSI) in 1951.
