Private Cover, First Day Cover in small size, Republic India, 1951, 2 Annas stamp of Geological Survey of India Centenary issue released on 13th Jan. 1951, with a very beautiful first-day cancellation round seal as “GEOLOGICAL SURVEY OF INDIA | CALCUTTA - 13 TH. JAN. 1951 | CENTENARY CELEBRATIONS | CALCUTTA |” in violet colour, along with a map of lower India highlighting “Calcutta” within the seal and a round dispatch seal as “CALCUTTA G.P.O. | 13 JAN 51”, excellent condition, Rare.

Note: The Geological Survey of India (GSI) was established in 1851 and has been supplying scientific information to the government since that time. The Centenary Celebrations seal on the cover commemorates the completion of 100 years of this organization (GSI) in 1951.
